LaZoom me. It’s that purple bus again…
LaZoom Me. Oh, and yes, this Is West Asheville…
So, many of you might think “how is LaZoom” West Asheville? Well, I don’t know a ton about the owners that created LaZoom City Comedy Bus Tours, but I do know this: I used to walk by their house in West Asheville when they first relocated from LA after Katrina. For the first few years, the bus was parked in their back yard when off duty. Over the years, from what I saw walking by and from the local buzz around town, it was evident that this growing local business was here to stay and rapidly becoming an integral cornerstone of Asheville’s quirky culture.
Fortunately, in the past month, I’ve had the opportunity to, not only take my First, but then my second tour on LaZoom. And, I have to tell you, comedy skits are not always for me; but, I found myself laughing out loud and giggling (of course when no one else was) on my first tour! Shocking, for me, as I realized: I Loved it!! You get to sit back, relax, enjoy a beverage (coolers and booze are allowed,) take in the beauty of downtown Asheville, experience a little history, and Laugh!
When a friend came to us to go on the special: “Baby Gramps” LaZoom, we jumped at it. This tour took us through downtown, then West Asheville, where we pit stopped for drinks and entertainment at The Double Crown, continued down Haywood Road, and then navigated our way back to downtown. This second “Baby Gramps” tour was all music. At times sing a long, gritty, funny, and was just a blast!
As I had held out for many years Not going on LaZoom, I encourage anyone in West Asheville or those visiting: Do It!!! Take a group, do a big party, get out, and have fun! You won’t be disappointed and….gotta love that locals get a discount!
